Props and Costumes

For our film to be enjoyable and beliveable we will need to include props to help make the charcters look real. Not only will costumes fall under the the title of props but so will everyday items used in the film.

Character Costumes

For our killer we are basing him on the real life legend of Slender man, a mysterious figure that resembles a man in a suit. He is scary as he is so mysterious as a character, but the costume also helps the mystery of him.

To create a character that looks like this we will need to have several items, some of which will be a white morph suit, to create the scary pale featureless face. A suit as for some reason he is almost always seen wearing one and a red tie. We have chosen to use a red tie as it will help draw attention to him if we hide him in the background. It will also help draw attention to his upper body and featureless face.

This is the sort of Suit and Tie we will use

This is the white morph suit we will use.

This is the final effect we are going for in the costume.

Another costume that is needed is that of the main character. In it he will be dressed in clothes in his spare time so maybe a dressing gown or jeans and a t-shirt. But he will also be dressed as a reporter in it at points so this would involve some smarter clothes such as a pair of jeans and a nice coat. However for this he made some small props such as his own small camera, a notepad and pen. Things you would expect a reporter to wear and own. Some examples of which are below.

A dressing gown that may be used as a possible costume for our main character.

This is another option for casual clothing for our character.

Something like this could be used for the section where the male main character needs to be dressed smartly.

Another costume that may be used is the possibility of some Non-uniform police such as detectives. We haven't yet decided on the shots that will be used in the trailer but this is a possibility of a shot. In it he would have to be arrested and handcuffed and put into a car. For this we would need a basic costume of a smart jacket, a pair of handcuffs and a car to put him in.

A costume like this could be used, he would have to identify himself as a policeman though as it may not be clear.

This could be a prop used to help identify the policeman as a policeman.

We are also playing around with idea of using a shot of a forensic detective at a crime scene. For this we would need a gazebo, some crime tape and a forensic detective dressed in an overalls, gloves, shoes protecters, a face mask and goggles. A picture of what this would look like is below.

We are going to have a victim also in the trailer, we plan for the victim to be a young girl, as we want the character to be defenceless for this. Therefore a young girl is a good choice of character as they are usually thought of in this way. The young girl would be wearing casual clothes such as trousers and a coat and hat. A picture of what would be acceptable is shown below.
