Slenderman Costume

We have decieded to change the costume idea for our Slenderman, instead of having an all white morph suit we have decieded to change it to all all black suit. Doing this has helped keep our minimal budget low as a white morph suit costs around £34 whereas a black one costs £10. Allowing us to reinvest this part of the budget in other areas.

Strangers Trailer Analysis

The Trailer begins with its rating, it has been approved to be suitable for all ages, this is beacuse the lack of violence and swearing. This benefits the film as it will allow it to advertise itself to the largest possible audeince. This is then followed by a Rogue Films title. Rogue films has helped to produce many very successful films such as Hot Fuzz, Shawn of the Dead, Balls of Fury and Attack on Precinct 13. Not only have they had success in this genre of films but also in Horror films, which include; The Unborn, Last House on the left, The Hitcher and The seed of Chucky. This is an extra selling point for the film, so if people know about the company they may be more likely to wacth the film. This is followed by a Intrepid title, this will have the same effect as the Rogue Films title.

Possible Shot?

I was walking home one night and I noticed that from an angle that the signpost and black gate look like slender man, which is highlighted in the picture on the right. I thought in some way we could possibly use this shot within the film.

Dawn of the Dead Movie Trailer Analysis

Dawn of the Dead is a Zombie Horror film released in 1980. It was written and directed by George Romeo. The budget was around $650,000 and the Gross income was $55,000,000, this is a large amount of money at the time so the film did very well. Dawn of the Dead was one of the first very successful horror movie, and in the following years was followed by films such as Day of the Dead, Return of the living dead and up to the more current zombie films such as Resident Evil and 28 Days Later. But it followed the Night of the living Dead also by George Romeo, which was also successful, this probably helped George to allow Dawn of the Dead to reach its full potential. The story of Dawn of the Dead is for an unknown reason recently deceased people are reanimated as flesh easting zombies and the story line follows a few survivors who end up in a mall and the story about how they try and survive and the problems they cross.

The start of the trailer begins with a sunrise on the top half of the screen with a black bottom half. On the bottom half titles start rolling, with the first title being about Georges first zombie film 'Night of the living Dead', this already is drawing in an audience. It grabs the attention of people who saw the film, and makes them more interested in the trailer, if they like what they see, which they probably will as this is very similar to the Night of the living Dead film, they are a lot more likely to go and watch it. After this it talks about the film being the most intensely shocking motion picture film for all time, this again is to entice the audience in and make them want to watch the film. During this you can see more of the sun rising, but it isn't as expected instead of being the sun it is in fact a human face, and due to the black webbing like stuff over the left hand side of its face you presume that this is a zombie. When it gets to the bridge of its nose it stops rising and the title of the film is shown at the bottom. Dawn of the Dead, written in a blood red font. It shows Dawn of the Dead almost as a sequel now saying Night of the living dead has ended and Dawn of the Dead has begun, this will help draw in fans of Night of the Living Dead. During this all of the titles are spoken by a Male voice, this will just help keep peoples attention on the trailer. The zombies eyes expel a white light and covers the rest of the screen leading onto the first shot of actual action. It starts off with several very fast paced shots, of people screaming, zombies attacking people and people breaking down doors. This is very visually attractive and will draw the audiences attention if they were not looking already. The action slows down to a man talking about what they are and he says that people they kill get up and kill. It flashes to someone being grabbed by a Zombie in a Supermarket. It then changes to a man on a television telling people to destroy the bodies on site. You see a couple more shots of Zombies attacking people and the voiceover comes back saying how when hell is full its sends them back, suggesting they are akin with the devil and are evil. It then cuts to the title 'Dawn of the Dead' one more time and then finishes. In Conclusion this is a very good trailer as it draws in a previous Zombie film audience and attracts a new audience very well.
