Analysis of District 9 DVD cover

I saw this film cover and thought it was very good at advertising the film as the audience know what its about due to the contents. The first point is that at the top it says that it's produced by Peter Jackson this will attract a previous audience of his films from films such as Avatar.

The cover allows you to see what the film will include as you can see that there are skyscrapers that suggests that it's based on planet Earth that there was also a spaceship hovering over about this suggests that It is a sci-fi film. Another point that suggests it's a sci-fi film is the no humans allowed sign which has a creature that looks like an alien on it. Letting the audience know it is a sci-fi film will help attract an audience. Another way in which they try and convince you to watch the film is by putting ratings on there as there are 4 5 star ratings from the people, the daily Mirror, loaded and news of the world. This could help convince people to watch the film. Overall I thought this was a good film cover as it convinces the target audience to watch the film and is also eye-catching.
